Message	for the consistency and lower labor rate. Do you have pictures of the blasted/etched pieces after heat treatment? The exact look of the results will tell the whole story. Were the heat treatment conditions exactly the same as the unfinished part? Time/Temperature? The color develops because of the growth of a thin film of transparent TiO2. The thickness is on the same size scale as the wavelengths of visible light which gives rise to the effect. If the coating grows too thick the colors will be either less vibrant or non existant.
